Puzzle Description

Snoozing on the Ted (G6281) is a 1000 piece puzzle by Steve Read and measures 68 x 49 cms.

A clever play on words as well as a reference to another Steve Read puzzle called Snoozing in the Shed, Steve surely is a master of creating a warm and delightful scene using all sorts of animals both alive and not so alive. Kittens are always at the heart of Steve's highly animated puzzles and that is the case here. Four kittens are conducting their mischief to everyone's delight and mirth, even the animals that are definitely not so alive, like the teddy bear and the rageddy ann doll.

Raggedy Ann is a character created by American writer Johnny Gruelle (1880–1938) that appeared in a series of books he wrote and illustrated for young children. Raggedy Ann is a rag doll with red yarn for hair and a triangle nose. The character was created in 1915 as a doll, and was introduced to the public in the 1918 book Raggedy Ann Stories. When a doll was marketed with the book, the concept had great success. A sequel, Raggedy Andy Stories (1920), introduced the character of her brother, Raggedy Andy. Raggedy Andy is not as well known as Raggedy Ann.

A teddy bear is a stuffed toy in the form of a bear. Developed apparently simultaneously by toymakers U.S. and Richard Steiff in Germany in the early years of the 20th century, and named after President Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt, the teddy bear became a popular children's toy. Since the creation of the first teddy bears which sought to imitate the form of real bear cubs, "teddies" have greatly varied in form, style, color, and material. They have become collector's items, with older and rarer "teddies" appearing at public auctions.Teddy bears are among the most popular gifts for children and are often given to adults to signify love, congratulations, or sympathy.

There's an old fashioned spinning top as well as a skipping rope and a robot which used to make sparks fly (if I remember correctly). In addition there's a Jack in the Box and some wooden alphabet letters scattered around.
