Puzzle Description

It may be cold outside but it sure is warm in here with Grandma in her kitchen making all sorts of Christmas pies and cakes for the holidays! Christmas Treats, G6253 is a fantastically nostalgic 1000 piece puzzle by Steve Read. Christmas Treats is also available as a 500XL puzzle (G3532). All 500XL and 1000 regular piece jigsaws measure 68 x 49 centimeters when complete. The puzzle is made of 100% recycled premium puzzle board and can be made over and over again like new.Christmas Treats is very similar to another great puzzle called Home Sweet Home. Both make great gifts for Grandma!

The kids are having a great time helping Grandma even if they are a bit disorganised. Just look at that sink full of dishes! I wonder who will be cleaning up the mess. Grandma doesn't seem to mind one little bit and is delighted that her grandchildren are helping her with the chore of all that baking. One item is already finished and that's the Christmas steamed pudding with the sprig of holly on top. Grandma sure knows baking with the main ingredients of eggs, butter, sugar and flour all on the table. Just look at all those patterns: the tablecloth, the tiles over the AGA and even the curtain over the base of the sink: a true puzzler's delight!

The young lad is busy rolling out the pastry while his sister prepares the scrumptious filling all under the careful eye of Granny who is already holding a completed pie ready for the oven. The oven is an AGA which never switches off but maintains an excellent cooking temperature. Even if the AGA is not the most efficient of kitchen appliances it has a level of quality which allows it to be in service for over fifty years.

Grandma must be a very good cook as her pots and pans all seem to be copper bottomed; even the ones clogging up the sink. Copper allows for a more even distribution of heat but again, copper pots and pans are very expensive compared to the more current brands. Even the coffee pot and chocolatier in the background are made of copper. Once their tasks are finished the kids will love some hot chocolate!

Christmas decorations are all over the kitchen, no doubt the kids helped Grandma make the paper hoops. Outside the Christmas season has truly arrived (notice the old fashioned red post box) and the neighbourhood is covered in a gentle blanket of snow.
