What exactly is a car boot sale? I Love Car Boot Sales (G509) refers to the trunk or boot of a vehicle. The same thing might be called a tailgate in North America. The idea being that a collection of drivers and their various sundry goods collect in one area and sell off their merchandise from the open trunk or boots of their vehicles. It's like a garage sale but on wheels. Of course the amount of merchandise (junk) one can put on display from the trunk is limited so the goods have to be top quality. Just look at the puzzle picture. Who could resist?

From used tyres that don't match to used aircraft carriers and fighter aircraft, we're talking a wide range of products. Naturally, since all proceeds are in cash, there might be some desperate characters selling illegal merchandise such as used cigarettes, or, more likely, contraband which gets the full attention of the local constabulary. To be honest, it's not so much the various and sundry merchandise on display as it is the people selling. There is a hot dog vendor supplying the innocent passers by with his special Napalm hot dogs. The man with the flames shooting out of his head who bought one now realises why they are called Napalm hot dogs.

There, in the middle, is an Ann Winters booth with a collection of men and their tongues hanging out staring at the pretty girls. I wonder what they're selling. In the meantime where are the mens' wives?

In the bottom centre there's a gentleman selling video cassettes. Remember them? Well it would appear he has piqued the interest of several police forces including the British Bobbies, the French Gendarmes, The RCMP and even Interpol. It's hands up for the poor guy in the blue shirt and pony tail.

Next to the stack of used, worn and dissimilar tyres, there's a sign which reads "Careful Lady Owner". I think that's a play on words and does not describe the loving attention the female owner has lavished on her property. Is it the used aircraft carrier that belongs to her? Anyway, as you can see for yourselves, it's not so much the products that are available as the colourful array of people selling them that is sure to intrigue the puzzler who is willing to tackle such a challenging and amusing jigsaw puzzle.

I Love Car Boot Sales is made from 100% recycled premium puzzle board and can be made time and time again as is new.
