Judy Koenig was born in California and did not begin painting until 1988, after raising her family. She soon developed a fascination for watercolor, which coincided with her love of old pottery and antique bric-a-brac.

The treasured objects around Judy often spark her imagination. Her painting technique requires many layers of thin washes and glazes to achieve deep and vibrant colour.
