636 Piece puzzles - 685mm x 320mm

Box Dimensions - 410mm x 210mm x 50mm

This 636 piece jigsaw puzzle from Gibsons is a welcome addition to the growing number of Christmas season puzzles Gibsons have developed to cater to the winter season puzzle hobbyist. The nostalgic setting is sometime in the not too distant past when life was taken at a more leisurely pace. Perhaps it's only at Christmas time that the whole family can still, even in our hectic times, gather together and enjoy each other's company. Having fun together over the kitchen table and making a puzzle is still a holiday favorite. The jigsaw puzzle title possibly refers to the smiling snowman freshly built in the village square. It could also refer to one of the children who may be new to the neighborhood taking part in making snowballs and building the snowman. An old fashioned car sits in the snowy street as does a coaltruck delivering coal. Trevor Mitchell's eye for authenticity guarantees that the vehicles in the puzzle will be authentically rendered. The limited range of colors and overall warmth of the puzzle picture will ensure it becomes a holiday favorite.

Trevor Mitchell began his career as a designer of brochure and advertising material at a London advertising agency after leaving Bradford Art College in 1979 with a diploma in Art & design. A few years later he returned to his native West Yorkshire and in 1986 was made redundant, when the design studio he was working for went into liquidation. This was the moment that Trevor's life changed and he took the first steps towards becoming a self-sufficient artist. Through the combination of raw talent and dogged Yorkshire persistence his paintings started to get notices. The first breakout came when Trevor was asked to do some paintings of local West Yorkshire scenes for two calendars. Various other commissions followed, including a collection of pictures for greeting cards which lead to his jigsaw puzzle paintings many of which also include steam driven vehicles often used in farm settings; another favorite theme in the Gibsons catalog.

Today, the subject matter of Trevor's paintings is wide and varied, including farming scenes, tractors, vintage vehicles, railways and World War II aircraft.

Trevor is married with two children and lives in Shipley, West Yorkshire.
