Initially, as a teenager, Robert Opie collected all types of packaging that protected any number of consumer products. The first package in the Collection was a chocolate bar wrapper purchased in the Inverness railway station in 1963. Robert eventually understood the ins and outs of brand development, an integral piece of the puzzle being product packaging. Any label, bottle, sign or wrapper that looked interesting made its way into Robert's now huge collection. Eventually, with the news of Robert's collection reaching London, he was invited in 1975 to display his prized collection pieces at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. The show was called The Pack Age; A Century of Wrapping It Up. This exhibit was such a huge hit with the public and the media Robert decided to set up a permanent Museum. In 1984 the Gloucester Museum set up Robert's permanent collection of wrappers, packets, bottles and labels. In this Gibsons 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle Robert has compiled a range of products associated with Santa Claus throughout the years. Who doesn't remember Christmas Crackers and the paper rings made by the children to decorate the Christmas tree.
