Catching the Post - by Linda Jane Smith 636 Piece puzzles - 685mm x 320mm Box Dimensions - 410mm x 210mm x 50mm As part of Gibsons continuing series of 636 piece jigsaw puzzles Linda Jane Smith lends her talents as a painter of whimsical animals to this jigsaw puzzle called Catching the Post. The cats line up mailing any last letters and parcels in a distinctly aloof yet charming manner. The post box is set into the wall of an old fashioned village post office which sells sweets, newspapers and, as the ad displays, cigarettes. The cats all seem distracted by other thoughts including mice catching. The mice are too experienced to by lulled into a feeling of false security and are well positioned to make their getaway. Linda Jane Smith has always loved drawing and as a child she entered as many art competitions as she possible could. She eventually went on to study Graphic Design at Bournville College of Art in Birmingham, England. Her time there gave her the discipline to work very precisely and also the ability to settle down anywhere to paint. The work of Linda Jane Smith has progressed considerably since then enabling her to combine the two great loves of her life, cats and painting. Gibsons puzzles have used Linda's talents in the past to great success with The Jumble Sale another 636 piece jigsaw puzzle that has been in the Gibsons puzzle catalogue for several years.
