Always on the Go - by Kevin WalshSet of two 1000 Piece Puzzles - 685mm x 490mm Box Dimensions - 410mm x 290mm x 50mm Kevin Walsh has have given us two wonderfully illustrated farm scenes in the 1000 piece size which is Gibsons most popular jigsaw puzzle size. When it comes to painting animals and farm equipment Kevin has no equal. From the pig to the calf and all the birds, they are stunningly realsitic. The horse in the summer season picture has a coat so real you could almost touch it. These are farmyard pictures that date back to the era when steam was still useful. Look at the steam tractor in the winter scene using its driveshaft to run a thresher which separates the wheat from the chaff. In the summer season picture a local dairy delivery man is picking up the large cans of milk ready for pasteurisation. The animal barn has a slate roof being repaired by a skilled tradesman. The children are helping after a fashion and there is an overall sense of unrushed wellbeing throughout. The field tractor in the winter scene is accurately observed and would be considered tiny by today's tractor sizes. Magpies are flying overhead and the chilly winter evening draws close through a golden sunset. The other two seasons, spring and fall are also available in the Gibsons jigsaw puzzle catalog (G908) and they are also by Kevin Walsh and are each 1000 Pièces. Kevin Walsh was born in Casterford in the heart of the former industrial West Riging of Yorkshire and is proud to hail from the town which produced the world-famous sculptor Henry Moore. Kevin studied illustration at the Wakefield College of Art and developed an early reputation for his aircraft paintings. He became a member of the Guild of Aviation Artists. In recent years, he has become increasingly known for a much wider variety of subjects, including landscapes, hunting scenes, transport, and city life in bygone days.
